UPVC doors and windows

Been to two jobs in the last couple of days where the door or window wouldn't close and both customers thought it was the lock that was at fault. In both cases the lock was catching on the frame of the door or window and preventing it closing. However the reason this was happening was due to the door and window both having 'dropped' from their correct position. Burglary on the rise?

We seem to be getting more calls to repair the damage caused during burglaries recently. With the current economic climate it's hardly surprising I suppose. In one recent case the burglars didn't manage to steal anything as the alarm went off as soon as they opened the door, so it does pay to have an alarm installed. Couple of odd jobs

Had a call from somebody whose key had snapped off in the lock this week. I was expecting it to have happened when they had attempted to turn the key in the lock but this turned out not to be the case. The key had been left in the lock on a set of bi-fold door doors and when the doors had been opened the key had hit one of the other doors and snapped off in the lock.
