We were recently called out by a customer who had lost their keys. When we got to the property it was a very nice period property with a beautiful wooden door with stained glass panels. The lock keeping it closed turned out to be a 2 lever mortice lock. This did mean that getting the door open was quick. The customer agreed that they should have a new lock fitted as their insurance policy was invalid due to the lock not meeting the relevant British Standard. If your house has a wooden door then it would be wise to check what lock is fitted and upgrade it if necessary. This does not cost a lot and is definitely cheaper than having no insurance if you are unlucky enough to be burgled.
