We seem to be getting more calls to repair the damage caused during burglaries recently. With the current economic climate it's hardly surprising I suppose. In one recent case the burglars didn't manage to steal anything as the alarm went off as soon as they opened the door, so it does pay to have an alarm installed. However, the door handles and lock had to be replaced and some damage to the door repaired, but it could have been much worse. On a different occasion the burglar had simply levered the UPVC door with a crowbar. The door had an old lock fitted so a more secure replacement had to be fitted to prevent the same method of breaking in being used again. Although it might seem expensive to replace the whole multipoint lock it usually costs less than the excess on your household insurance so it is actually quite cheap, and wil help prevent you suffering the stress of being burgled.
