Went to see a customer today who had lost the keys to the lock on the tow hitch of their caravan. The makers of the lock had very nicely described how to drill part of the lock in order to remove it, makes you wonder doesn't it? I had been called as time was an issue and so far it had not worked. Getting the lock off didn't take too long but should firms manufacturing security products really tell people how to defeat them? Other jobs today involved replacing a multipoint lock on a UPVC door, opening the door to en-suite where the latch had broken, and replacing some handles on a door which had broken due to sustained abuse from a fiery youngster. At least life as a locksmith is varied.
